UPDATE-School Tax Bill

Today, the Town of Van Etten was informed that 27 S-VE School tax bills were affected by a computer error; see the list below. If you're affected by this error, a new bill will be issued and mailed to you. For further information, please contact Sally Whitson at 607-742-8421 - all other property owners please proceed with payment.

Volunteers for the Town of Van Etten Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee

On Thursday June 4th the Town Board of Van Etten held a workshop to discuss the first steps of creating a Comprehensive Plan for the Town. As a starting point in the process, the Town Board agreed to form a Steering Committee to be Chaired by Councilperson Fred Swayze and assisted by Councilperson Penny Flora, the committee will also include the Code Officer and the Highway Superintendent. The Steering Committee will be looking for at least eight to twelve diverse, bipartisan volunteers who reside in the Town of Van Etten to help with the task of adopting a Comprehensive Plan for the Town. The length of this process is unknown at this time, it could be up to six months to a year or more for this to be achieved. Meeting dates and times will be scheduled as needed usually a weekday after 6pm it may be monthly or bi-monthly. The goal of the committee is to have volunteers in place by the end of June so we can hit the ground running in July, once the committee starts to meet, they will begin to present their progress and findings to the Town Board and the public at scheduled Town Board workshops.
